I aspire to unify culture and art forms from different countries through my paintings. I was born in India and spent most of my formative years there. Later, I lived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates and experienced the art of that region, before I moved to the United States in 1997. This eclectic background has allowed me to blossom artistically, borrowing from the incredibly exacting visual heritage of India, the vivid art of the Arab world and America’s rich and diverse artistic legacy.
My paintings originate with a theme, and then explode into imaginative compositions with vibrant colors and strokes. My signature series is founded on the use of dots to create depth and vibrancy. Each pixel of my art form is carefully rendered to promote a contemporary and unique style.
When I study the work of old masters, sculpture, architecture or ruins of earlier times, I see them through a lens crafted by my experience. It is my goal to share with my audience these pieces, the product of my study, as they evolve into multi-dimensioned creations which reflect my personal emotional landscape, my knowledge and perspective.
My actions as an artist at work should be viewed as a performance fusing various art forms - music, dance and performance art with the strokes of my brush taking paint from my palette and bringing life to a once white canvas. The magic is in the completion of large paintings at great speed before an audience. In this way, the energy and spirit of the audience is incorporated into my work.
